Hello. My name is Alan Christiansen. I find it very hard to define myself by simple words on a page. All of us are complex and multifaceted individuals constantly growing and changing. After 40 years of plodding along, I’ve picked up a few things along the way that I believe to be worthy of sharing. As I have time I hope to begin sharing these thoughts and ideas on my blog. I fully expect this website and its content to evolve and change as it goes along. I hope to touch on topics as varied as cultivating one’s spirituality to the latest software tools and workflows I use to ‘get things done’.
I think it would be helpful to give a little background regarding my basic beliefs in order to give some context to the posts you find here. The following items form the core of my belief system and inform (on my good days) my thoughts and actions.
- There exists a physical and non-physical connectedness between all things.
- Every one of us has the freedom to choose how we will act in any of life’s varied situations.
- The impact of our thoughts, words, and actions are powerful and far reaching.
- Love is the greatest enabling power in the universe, and fear is its mightiest opponent.
- We live in an abundant universe and there is more than enough for everyone to live a rich and happy life.
- Life continues after physical death, and there are entities outside our vision that are aware of and involved in our life here on earth.
I know that everyone’s path through life is unique and personal. I myself am not affiliated with any particular religion, though over the years I have found good teachings from many. Most of what I share here is not my own, but is instead just my take on the bits of wisdom I’ve gathered from others. My hope is that you will do the same with my musings. Take them for what they are and if they resonate with you, please give them a try. If anything works and is helpful keep it and make it your own, if not, toss it and try something else.
